Under gentle snowflakes falling
Spring's faint whisper's softly calling
Giant spruce's arms hang sleeping
Hiding sparrows sweetly peeping
Winter, winter's secretly stalling
Mesmerizing ice shapes sprawling
Rest atop brown twigs and branches
Peaks and windowpanes of ranches
Street concealed below cold feet
Porch, then sidewalk, driveway meet
Blankets white hush restless ground
Spring winks her eye without a sound
